About this site

This site is free to use and has no accounts. It is made by Aaron Kapp, who also makes Toka for iPhone.

How it works

Mark the states, countries and European countries you have visited, lived in and want to see. Your map lives in your browser. The link you share carries it to any device, so anyone who opens it sees your map. Nothing is stored on a server.

How counting works

Countries are counted against 197 places: the 193 United Nations members, plus Vatican City, Palestine, Taiwan and Kosovo. Russia, Cyprus and Kosovo count as Europe. Türkiye counts as Asia. Other territories are shown on the map but do not change your count.

Where the maps come from

State shapes come from the US Census Bureau. Country shapes come from Natural Earth.

Toka is an iPhone app that builds your map from the places you go and keeps that history on your phone.
